Chinggis Khan Equestrian Statue

The Chinggis Khan Statue is a 40m tall on horseback, on the bank of the Tuul River at Tsonjin Boldog (54km east of the capital Ulaanbaatar), where according to legend, he found a golden whip. The statue iscoveredin 250 tons of stainless steel. It is on top of the Chinggis Khan Statue Complex, a visitor center, itself 10mtall, with 36 columns representing the 36 khans from Chinggis to Ligden Khan. It was designed by sculptor D. Erdembileg and architect J. Enkhjargal and erected in 2008.


Visitors walk to the head of the horse through its chest and neck of the horse, where they can have a panoramic view.

Drive to Terelj National Park /70km. Terelj is a picturesque place of high cliffs eroded in Mesozoic granites. Huge blocks of granite have been eroded by wind, rain, frost, ice and natural acids into bizarre shapes, as if by some giant sculptor. Enrooted stop in Ovoo – the ubiquitous pile of stone designed as tombstones.Visit the Turtle Rock. Walking to the Aryapala Initiation & Meditation Center.

Visit horse breeding family to have a close look to daily life of nomads and test traditional dairy products.

After lunch drive to giant monument of Chinggis Khan Statue located in picturesque valley. Then drive back to UB.
