You start this trip with a flight (1h30min) to Moron, capital of Hovsgol province. Hovsgol is home to a number of different fish, such as Baikal Omul, sturgeon and lenok. A National Park surrounds the lake and you may see goose, black-stork as well as moose and Red Deer. Hovsgol Nuur is the deepest lake in Central Asia, up to 262m.

The lake has a surface of 2760skm2, extends 134km from north to south and is 39km wide. You have a full day to explore the lake by boat, on horseback, by trekking along the shore or just relax and enjoy the clear mountain air and the stunning lake. You will drive through the beautiful Selenge Valley before you get to Horgo, a dead volcano with volcanic crater (200m wide and 100m deep). Enjoy walking around astonishingly beautiful lake Terhiin Tsagaan Nuur with crystal clear fresh water. The next stop is Karakorum, capital of the Great Mongolian Empire of XIII century. Visit impressive Erdenezuu Monastery erected on the initiative of Abtai Sain Khan in 1586.
